Parks and recreation planning is integral to achieving community livability and should be considered in the broader context of contributing to personal and community well-being, economic competitiveness, and social, economic, and environmental sustainability.
KKC has been involved in all phases of parks and recreation planning and design, including complete master plans, system plans as a city-wide comprehensive plan element, conservation management and open space plans, bikeway and trail network development plans, conceptual site design, planning and construction management, and the drafting of parkland dedication, fees-in-lieu, and park development ordinances. Our projects span small towns, medium-sized suburbs to urban areas and larger regions across the United States. A trademark of our plans is a direct link between the identified needs and policies of the plan and specific projects and implementation steps for achieving a meritorious parks and recreation system.
