Entry Point and Image-Setting Gateways, which are
locations where those approaching the community
can first be engaged and experience the Grenada
County identity (e.g., on I-55, on U.S. Highway 51, and
on Mississippi Highways 7 and 8). These areas offer
opportunities for tasteful signage and landscaping
that are harmonious with the surrounding rural areas
while announcing one’s pending arrival into the
county.
Primary Gateways such as the county's four I-55
interchanges and key entries into the City of Grenada,

Highway 333 across the Grenada Lake Dam, north
U.S. 51 from I-55 through the Yalobusha River area,
etc.).
Secondary Image Corridors, which often move
travelers through the community’s significant
business or residential areas (e.g., Fairfield Avenue Existing gateway and wayfinding signage
into Downtown, West Monroe Street toward Holmes welcomes and orients visitors to Grenada
Community College and UMMC, Jackson Avenue, and its unique attractions.
Country Club Road, Wooded Drive, etc.).
Essentially, image corridors are routes that many residents and visitors travel and, along the way, form
impressions of Grenada County and City. Several of these corridors either are within an identified district
(Downtown) or serve as a link between districts (e.g., Downtown and the Sunset Drive commercial area via
South Street), further reinforcing their importance. Identity and beautification elements, such as decorative
