Primary Street
The main street adjacent to a structure. Typically, this is the
street that is most traveled, if a property is adjacent to more
than one street.
Primary Structure
The main structure on a property.
Proportion
The relationship of the size, shape and location of one
building element to all the other elements.
Public Realm
The space around, between and within a building that is
publicly accessible including streets, squares, parks and open
spaces.
Scale
Proportional elements that demonstrate the size, materials
and style of buildings. The proportions of the elements of
a building to one another and the whole, and to adjacent
buildings.
Secondary Material
A material that is used on a building in small amounts,
sometimes used to draw attention to a certain building
feature.
Secondary Street
A smaller, and likely less traveled, street that is adjacent to a
property.
Secondary Structure
A smaller or lesser structure associated with a primary
structure on a property.
Shed Roof
A pitched roof with a single plane.
