CITY OF PLANO
The City of Plano manages the heritage preservation program and its components including heritage resources
designation, design review, funding, and grant assistance. The following elected officials, commissions and departments
are involved in heritage preservation at the city level:
PLANO CITY COUNCIL
A Hears appeals to Heritage Commission decisions regarding Certificates of Appropriateness
A Final authority to designate heritage resources
A Officially approves grant funding and tax exemptions
A Adopts changes to the Zoning and Heritage Preservation Ordinances
PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION HERITAGE COMMISSION
A Makes recommendations to City Council on A Reviews Certificate of Appropriateness applications
