2000-2018: PLANO TODAY
In the year 2000, residential growth begins to slow and Plano focuses on mixed-use, redevelopment, and employment. Downtown
continues its revitalization with the arrival of the DART light rail and businesses return, making downtown a premier entertainment
district. During this period, Plano begins the transition from a suburban community to a first-tier suburb as growth continues beyond
its northern limits.
