This is one of the few indigenous American styles. It was 1
developed by a creative group of Chicago architects who have
come to be known as the Prairie School. Frank Lloyd Wright is 3 2
the acknowledged master of the Prairie house but numerous local
architects throughout the midwestern states and other regions also 4
produced outstanding Prairie houses. The style in its vernacular
form was spread throughout the country by pattern books
