Engagement

Public and leadership engagement activities were hosted by the consultant team and Florence County
officials to help inform this report and establish where to focus data gathering efforts. Input and feedback
received during these meetings is referenced in this Existing County report. These engagement activities
included:

› Listening sessions with community leaders, public officials, department heads, and staff;
› Use of the interactive County enCodePlus website for project communication with the community;
› Two joint workshops with the County Council and Planning Commission;
› Public Workshop; and
› Several meetings with Planning Staff.
Due to the COVID-19 public health emergency, ongoing at the time of the planning process, some
engagement activities were hosted virtually or in a modified, socially distant manner.
The county-wide enCodePlus site was utilized for the Comprehensive Plan outreach, providing
information and work, including the ability to contact the project team.
