Building Additions
        Constructing an addition to a single-family home is a good way to
        accommodate increased needs for space. In general, an addition
        should be subordinate to the existing structure.


        5.56  Design a building addition to be subordinate to the
               existing structure.
               a.  Locate a building addition to the rear of the existing
