Treatment of Historic Resources
Historic resources are located throughout Healdsburg and greatly IN THIS CHAPTER
contribute to the sense of character and charm of the city. Over
the past decades, the City has taken many steps to support Historic Preservation 188
historic preservation and to protect historic resources that remain Principles and Best Practices
as reminders of the city’s heritage. A historic resources survey Approaches to Historic 190
in 1983 included 339 properties and 6 districts within the City Preservation Projects
of Healdsburg, and led to the designation of the Johnson and Guidelines for the Treatment 191
Matheson historic districts. In addition to Healdsburg’s two historic of Historic Building Features
districts, the city has numerous other individually designated Guidelines for Site
