Soffit
A flat wooden member used as a finished undersurface for any overhead
exposed part of a building, such as a cornice
Stringer
A horizontal framing timber supporting minor members at right angles to it
Top Rail
The top member connecting the posts of a fence or a row of balusters
Tread
The horizontal surface of a step
Trim
The finish material on a building, such as moldings applied around openings
or at the floor and ceilings of rooms
