8 Best Practices for
New Construction
This chapter presents advisory, best practice design guidelines for
components of new construction that are not subject to HARB review
under the preservation ordinance (the rear half of the new building). While
the guidelines that follow are not enforceable, they provide good practices
for all new construction. The design guidelines provided in Chapter 5 can
apply to a full new building, but will not be used to review the rear half of a
new building.
