Often one of the most important decorative features of a house,
a doorway reflects the age and style of a residential building.
The character-defining features of a historic door and its distinct
materials and placement should be preserved. When a new door is
needed, it should be in character with the building, especially when
it is located on a primary wall. As such, the style and type of door
will be reviewed based on the style of the residential building.
