Grenada County Build Better Together 2040 Plan
Framework for Action and Goals
This Framework for Action section builds off of the Top Strategic Priorities itemized above under Key Issues and
Considerations. The actions in this Economic Development section involve tangible steps that will lead to
achievement of the goals in line with the Plan’s Guiding Principles (in the Introduction section). The actions are
categorized into the five types of plan implementation actions highlighted throughout this Grenada County 2040
Plan:
1. Capital investments.
2. Programs and initiatives.
3. Regulations and standards.
4. Partnerships and coordination.
5. More targeted planning/study.
GOALS
A Goal is a statement of a desired outcome (“end”) toward which efforts
are directed as expressed by more specific objectives and action steps (“means”).
GOAL ED 1: A continued holistic approach to economic development that encompasses overall
community development and quality of place.
A resilient area economy with a diverse yet stable base built on established
GOAL ED 2: businesses, new sources of investment and job creation, a supportive environment for
entrepreneurs, and a local real estate market attractive to emerging development
opportunities.
Continued capitalization on Grenada County’s position as the hub of its multi-county
GOAL ED 3: area for jobs, education, shopping and services, utility and broadband infrastructure,
and recreation and leisure amenities, especially at Grenada Lake and a reinvigorated
Downtown.
Continued emphasis on lifelong education, from early childhood through higher and
GOAL ED 4: continuing education, to enhance Grenada County’s workforce and draw and retain
industries with better jobs and pay.
GOAL ED 5: A fresh identity and image for Grenada County statewide and beyond, appropriate to
its growing economic stature and success.
