              Architectural details help convey the architectural significance
              of historic buildings, and should be preserved. The method that
              requires the least intervention is expected.

              4.2  Maintain significant architectural details.
                   a. Retain and treat exterior stylistic features and examples of
                      skilled craftsmanship with sensitivity.
                   b. Employ preventive measures such as rust removal,

              4.3  Repair, rather than replace, significant architectural
                   details if they are damaged.
