Historic Preservation Plan
Advocacy and Partnerships
Advocacy programs promote policies and plans that support historic
preservation. This includes lobbying for zoning codes that are compatible
with traditional development patterns in older neighborhoods and
supporting adoption of new incentives to maintain historic structures.
They also work to expand the base of preservation players and engage
partners in collaborative preservation programs. Private citizens and
non-profit organizations lead preservation advocacy in Corvallis.
Historic preservation in Corvallis is supported by a number of groups and
organizations. In some cases, historic preservation is an organization’s
primary mandate. Other organizations focus on activities that are
not directly related to preservation, but that do have a secondary
relationship. Sometimes these are new partners.
